Thinking of Others in Need

I've recently learned of quite a few people who are going through life changing events that many of us can't even fathom.  Can you imagine getting the news that your child has Cancer? Sadly, a few of my acquaintances have had to bear that awful burden. Below is the link and story for one little girl who is going through the fight of her life. Her parents have gotten the horrible news that she has very limited time left in  her precious life.  Please visit the link, offer your kind words and prayers and, if you can, make a donation to help these courageous people make this little girl's remaining days as wonderful and joyous as possible.

http://ning.it/oZHO4e Stella was diagnosed at the beginning of July with brain stem glioma. This is an aggressive tumor that has wrapped around her brain stem. The tumor is inoperable, and also is widely regarded as being untreatable through chemotherapy or radiation.

Let's put our own small worries and concerns aside for a brief time and realize that things could really be so much worse!

God bless & remember life is a precious gift that we should never, ever take for granted.

Life's a Gift

Some events transpired this past weekend that brought back to the forefront of my mind the harsh reality that life can and will throw us scary curve-balls!  We often go about our daily lives complaining about the little inconveniences we deal with.  We tend to get so caught up in our day-to-day routines that we forget about the most important things in this life.  We get angry with friends and/or loved ones and say things we should never say.  We forget to pick up the phone just to let family know we're thinking of them. We close our eyes, hearts & minds to the people around us and miss the signs that they might need a compassionate ear.

Life can be cut short so quickly and if we fail to realize the gift we've been given each day, we could be left with a heavy burden of regret & sorrow. Take a moment each day and give thanks for the many blessings in your life. Realize that, even though you may be going through a difficult time, things truly could be much worse.  Take a moment to say "I was thinking about you and wanted to let you know I care about you". Pick up the telephone and call distant friends and family just to say hi.

We've been given a gift with every new day. Show your gratitude by being grateful & helping others realize the good in the world. The simplest little things can make all the difference! Today is the best day of your life so far......
